All-American wrestler Pat Cummins will step in on short notice for the injured Rashad Evans to face Daniel Cormier at UFC 170, the UFC announced Thursday. Evans, the former light heavyweight champion, has been forced out of action with a knee injury. He was originally expected to miss up to four weeks, however, UFC president Dana White says the injury is worse than first expected and surgery is the next step. Cormier, the former Strikeforce Heavyweight GP champion and one of four former Olympians in the UFC, is 2-0 in the organization as a heavyweight. The light heavyweight matchup against Cummins on Feb. 22 is his first bout at 205 lbs. Cummins, who was working his day job at a coffee shop when he received the call for the fight, is 4-0 in his mixed martial arts career.
