OTTAWA -- The Ottawa Senators signed left-winger Colin Greening to a three-year, $7.95M contract extension on Monday. The 27-year-old was set to become an unrestricted free agent following the 2013-14 season. Greening is set to make $2 million in 2014-15, $2.75 million in 2015-16 and $3.2 million in 2016-17. The native of St. Johns, N.L., had eight goals and 11 assists with Ottawa in the lockout-shortened 2013 campaign. He added three goals and an assist in 10 playoff games. "He is intelligent and a good communicator. He was responsible for presenting a couple of game-plan packages to our offence each week and he was impressive." Michael, 35, worked this past season with Whisenhunt in San Diego. Michael spent the past three seasons coaching tight ends for the Chargers with San Diego ranking in the NFLs top 10 offensively in two of his three seasons.
